"Majestic" and "stylish", this "grande old" 1930s classic "with a sprawling lobby" is "a stone's throw from the harbor and boardwalk"; "rooms are compact but sufficient", though some are "showing their age" and bathrooms have "virtually no counter space"; on the positive side, the "superb" staff "consistently goes above and beyond", and the "restaurant food and service is commendable", plus the swimming pool and exercise facilities are "quite good."

Location, decor, services (internet access in lobby), quality bedding, beautiful room.
Bathroom sink was dirty, hair on the bathroom wall, and in-room coffee was expired, room was near an elevator.

Overall, this hotel was amazing. Absolutely gorgeous and regal inside. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would have given 10/10 on every category except for the fact that the bathroom in our room was not clean. The sink was dirty and there was hair on the walls. It was also very dusty. The inside of the mini bar was dirty - something had spilled and was left there. The in-room coffee packets were expired, and the coffee supplies were not filled (no sugar packets, etc.) I had to track down a staff from housekeeping to inquire about getting new, un-expired coffee & sugar for our room. ...read more
